About Rocket League

This browser Rocket League is car soccer. You drive, jump, and hit a giant ball toward the other net. Aerials are optional. Missing the ball at 80 is not.

How To Play Rocket League

Hit the ball, then recover

A second touch you are not facing is a gift. Turn around before you boost again.

Defend the line first

If nobody is in net, the next shot is in. Rotate back before you chase.

Jump late, not early

Early jumps sail under the ball. Wait until you can actually reach it.

Gameplay Experience

Cars, not boots

The hitbox is a car. You need a run-up more than a feint.

Kickoffs decide a lot

A lost kickoff is a breakaway if your teammate is still flipping.

Boost is a budget

Empty boost in the corner means you arrive second.

Gameplay Mechanics

Drive + jump + boost

Those three are the whole move set in most web ports.

Ball cam

If the build has it, use it. Driving at the floor loses the ball.

Own goals

A panicked clear across your face is how those happen.

Tips & Strategies

  • 01

Arrive with a car pointed at the ball

    Side-on hits dribble to them.

  • 02

    One person challenges

If two of you go, the net is empty.

  • 03

    Clear to the side

Up the middle from your box is a rebound into your own goal.

  • 04

    Learn ground shots first

Aerials can wait until you can hit a rolling ball.

FAQ

Is this official Rocket League?

The browser copy plays the car-soccer idea. Psyonix's full game is on the stores.

Do I need a controller?

Helps. Keyboard can still hit ground balls.

How many players?

1v1 or 2v2 depending on the port. The car is the same.

Why can't I fly?

You jumped too early or have no boost. Get under the ball.

What is rotation?

After you challenge, go back. Let the next car take it.

Is boost unlimited?

Usually not. Grab pads.
